National Common Health Capability Resource

The National Common Health Capability Resource (Resource) has been developed as part of a broader program of health workforce innovation and reform aimed at addressing current and projected health workforce challenges. To access the Resource and find out more about how this contributes to the program please visit the Health Workforce Australia website.

HWA is currently progressing the development of tools to enable the Resources practical application in the workplace. The tools will support organisations with the uptake of the Resource. The tools include:

  • Capability cards for each of the levels;
  • Self assessment tool;
  • Team assessment tool;
  • Training needs analysis;
  • Example position descriptions for behavioural interviewing;
  • Performance planning tools;
  • Interprofessional education and training tools.

 

NHET Sim - Training the Healthcare Simulation Community

NHET-Sim is designed for anyone who currently or intends to use simulation as an educational method to support the development of healthcare students and professionals. The Program is open to individuals from all healthcare professional disciplines, will be offered across all jurisdictions and in metropolitan and rural locations. EScan 2013: The Care Industry - A Time for Action!

The Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council have released the 2013 Environmental Scan, key themes identified include growing emphasis on primary health, person-centred service work models and the need for greater investment in workforce planning and development.
