Midlands Multi-Purpose Health Centre, Oatlands

The Midlands Multi-Purpose Health Centre at Oatlands provides a 24 hour, seven days a week service including Accident & Emergency (outpatient) service, 4 acute care beds, a family care unit (palliative care) and 18 residential aged care beds. The Centre incorporates a doctor’s surgery and Ambulance service. It  also coordinates a range of community services, visiting services and community groups such as Community Nursing, Child Health, Disability Services and Diabetic Education Services.

The MPHS at Oatlands provides a range of learning opportunities and insights into rural practice that students are unlikely to experience in a larger urban or regional setting. The centre is a teaching site for a range of health disciplines and is a designated Rural Integrated Clinical Education Training Centre (RICETC) with learning space, some simulated learning resources, IT and videoconferencing facility. Self-contained accommodation is available in two houses, one across the road from the MPHS and another within easy walking distance.
